Annual Convention Committee -
Responsible for coordinating, planning and executing the Annual Convention.
Audit -
Audit the financial transactions of the previous fiscal year (both ISPE and ISPE
Foundation). Meet with ISPE staff and board member(s) to resolve discrepancies.
Provide a written report to the board.
Awards -
The Awards Committee is made up of representatives from each chapter and is
charges with ISPE award nominations to NSPE as well as selecting recipients for
ISPE awards. The purpose is to recognize those that have distinguished
themselves in their work as engineers and in their communities.
Currently the awards are for the NSPE Award, NSPE Distinguished Service Award,
Idaho Engineering Hall of Fame, Idaho Excellence in Engineering, and the Young
Engineer of the Year.
Student awards are given at the chapter level and are not a part of this
committees responsibilities.
Continuing Professional Development Committee -
Explores different alternatives regarding mandatory CPD in Idaho. Note that ISPE
membership is highly polarized on this issue, and the board has essentially
shelved this issue for later discussion as needed. The committee is not
operational at this time.

Homeland Defense/Security -
Assisting local, state and federal agencies with preparations and response in
case of disasters
ISPE Foundation -
The ISPE Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation that exists to
raise, manage, and disburse funds for ISPE's charitable efforts. The Board of
Directors provides leadership and oversight for the foundation. Some members of
the board serve as officers, and are responsible for the active management of
foundation operations. The board meets twice a year.
Legislative Affairs -
To ensure statewide representation to the ISPE Board regarding local and
statewide governmental issues that affect the professional engineering
community, the Legislative Committee includes a member from each chapter’s
sub-committee. Each chapter shall work with the state committee to ensure that a
continuity of policy is maintained throughout the state for various local
governmental issues. As required, the committee shall recommend position
statements for governmental issues to the ISPE Board.
MATHCOUNTS -
The state MATHCOUNTS committee is responsible for planning and administering the
annual state MATHCOUNTS competition. The planning phase involves picking a
competition site, and arranging food, awards, housing, competition materials,
volunteers, publicity, and funding. The administration phase involves set-up,
registering the students, proctoring during the competition
rounds, scoring the students answers, clean-up, and other related duties.

Nominating Committee -
Nominates persons for positions on the ISPE and IBPEPLS boards. This year, we
are responsible for nominating the ISPE president-elect and the ISPE
secretary-treasurer.
