Notes from V. Alan Werner,
PE
Western Region Vice President
Alan met with the ISPE membership during his visit to Boise for the annual
convention. Attendees agreed that his ties to the NSPE organization lent
valuable information to our discussions. Here are some excerpts from his
report on our ISPE Convention:
"The overall impression I gained of the
ISPE affairs is very positive. Currently there are 350 members
in the state out of roughly 6,000 PE's in the state (the exact number was
not known, or the number of out-of-state registrants).
ISPE seems to realize that they are in
control of their destiny to make that change happen. They are
looking for the tools to make changes and willing to adapt any and all
they are capable of using. The most positive aspect I noticed was the
up-beat attitude of the members present believing this will be nucleus of
positive growth for the state society."
