MATHCOUNTS
by Jim Reppell, PE

The 2003-2004 MATHCOUNTS season is off and running. Registration packages have been sent to all of the junior high schools in the state, and several schools have already registered. Teams of “mathletes” at these schools are already getting together to practice for the upcoming competitions using the materials the program sent them.

Chapter and state coordinators are calling and visiting schools to talk about MATHCOUNTS in the hope of increasing participation. They are also starting to make arrangements for the competitions. Anybody interested in helping out should contact your chapter or state coordinator. Contact information for them can be found on the ISPE web site www.IdahoSPE.org
