ISPE Vision Statement….
"The Idaho Society of Professional
Engineers (ISPE) will be the selected engineering society of the Idaho
engineering professionals for promoting engineering and public awareness and
providing advocacy and networking."
President's Message

A Call to Action - Help Reinvent ISPE
As you are aware, NSPE has been struggling with declining member involvement. We
at ISPE have been instrumental in communicating our concerns about NSPE's
programs, operations, and their State society interaction. Our voice was clearly
heard by National President Teri Helmlinger, PE during her visit to Idaho for
our February State Convention. Teri heeded our call and NSPE has formed a Future
Directions Task Force. The task force will start with a blank slate and
-Reaffirm or reinvent the NSPE vision/mission.
-Formulate a plan to enhance and focus NSPE programs, products, and services.
-Streamline governance and administrative operations.
-Recommend overall changes to ensure the long-term sustainability of NSPE.
The aim is to create a plan that will move NSPE toward:
-A more flexible and action based organization
-A closer working relationship with state societies, chapters, and regions
-A sustainable organization in the long-term.
A final report and recommendation will be presented no later than the July 2005
Board of Directors meeting, which coincides with NSPE's 2005 Annual Convention
in Chicago. We have the unique opportunity to support NSPE on their mission.
NSPE needs your input. A website for member involvement will be created on the
NSPE homepage and personal interaction with our NSPE associates is desired.
